Proset Auto Glass provides mobile windshield chip repair for repairable rock chips and small windshield damage. We assess repairability honestly — if the chip can be safely repaired, we repair it. If it can’t, we tell you why.
Not sure if your chip is repairable? Call us and describe the damage — we can help you decide before you book.
Chip repair is designed to seal the damage, restore structural integrity, and help prevent spreading. It is not a cosmetic restoration service. Understanding this before your appointment helps set accurate expectations.
Chip repair injects a resin into the impact point to seal the damage and reduce the risk of it spreading into a larger crack. This is the primary goal of the repair.
The repair restores structural integrity to the damaged area of the windshield. Your windshield is a safety component — stopping further damage is more important than cosmetic appearance.
Most chip repairs reduce the visibility of the chip. However, chip repair is not a cosmetic service. A faint mark or blemish may remain visible after the repair is complete. We do not promise a perfect result.
Not every chip qualifies for repair. We assess the damage at your appointment and tell you honestly whether repair is the right call or whether replacement is a safer option.
Most repairs take 20–30 minutes on-site. Same-day may be available depending on your schedule and the repairability of the damage.
Describe the chip — size, location, how long ago it happened. If you’re not sure whether it’s repairable, we can help you decide before booking.
On-site, we inspect the chip before starting any work. We confirm whether the damage is a candidate for repair and tell you what to expect from the result.
The damage area is carefully cleaned to remove loose material and debris. Contamination in the chip can affect the quality of the repair.
Optical resin is injected under pressure to fill the damage. This seals the impact point and reduces the risk of spreading.
20–30 minutes total on-site. We inspect the result and explain what remains visible. You drive away with the chip sealed and the glass structurally repaired.
Many Florida drivers with comprehensive auto insurance may qualify for windshield chip repair with little or no out-of-pocket cost, but coverage depends on your specific policy and your carrier’s approval. If you are not sure what your policy covers, call us and we can help you understand what questions to ask.
Some chips cannot be safely repaired — particularly if the damage has already spread, is in the driver’s line of sight, or is at the glass edge. If repair is not the right call, we will explain why and discuss windshield replacement as the next step. Your insurance claim can typically apply to replacement as well.
We work directly with Progressive, GEICO, State Farm, Allstate, USAA, and all major carriers. Call us to discuss your coverage before booking.
Coverage, deductible, and approval are determined by your insurance company. Proset does not guarantee coverage or claim outcomes. We help you understand what to ask your carrier.
Check your comprehensive coverage

Can every windshield chip be repaired?
Not every chip can be repaired safely. Repairability depends on the size of the damage, its location, how deep it is, whether it is contaminated, and whether it has already spread into a crack. Some damage requires windshield replacement rather than repair. We assess repairability at the time of your appointment and tell you honestly before starting any work.
Will the chip disappear after repair?
Chip repair is a structural service, not a cosmetic one. The goal is to seal the damage, restore structural integrity, and help prevent the chip from spreading. Most repairs reduce the visibility of the chip, but a faint mark or blemish may remain visible after the repair is complete. We do not promise a perfect cosmetic result.
How long does a chip repair take?
Most chip repair jobs take 20 to 30 minutes on-site. The time can vary depending on the size and condition of the damage. We confirm the expected timeframe when you book.
Can you repair a chip at my home or office?
Yes. Proset Auto Glass performs windshield chip repair at your home, office parking lot, or wherever your vehicle is parked within our service area across Seminole, Orange, Volusia, and Lake counties in Central Florida.
What if the chip is in my line of sight?
Damage in the driver's primary line of sight may not be a candidate for repair depending on safety standards and state requirements. We assess the location at the time of inspection. In some cases, damage directly in your line of sight may require windshield replacement rather than repair.
What if the damage has already started cracking?
If a chip has already spread into a crack, repair may no longer be possible depending on the length and pattern of the crack. Long cracks, edge cracks, or cracks with multiple legs typically require windshield replacement. We assess this on-site. If replacement is needed, we can explain your options.
Should I get the chip repaired quickly?
Yes. Road vibration, temperature changes, and moisture can cause a chip to spread into a larger crack over time. A chip that can be repaired today may require replacement if it continues to spread. Acting on chip damage early gives you more options and may avoid the cost and time of a full replacement.
Does insurance cover chip repair?
Many comprehensive auto insurance policies may cover windshield chip repair, sometimes with little or no out-of-pocket cost depending on your deductible and coverage. Your specific coverage and approval depend on your policy and your insurance carrier. Call us and we can help you understand what to ask before you book.
